In recent years, Muay Thai has seen a surge of exceptional talent from the United Kingdom, and that trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down in ONE Championship.
Gone are the days when fans of the sport could only follow the likes of Liam Harrison in the world’s largest martial arts organisation. Now, there are more promising British striking stars than you can shake a stick at.
With that, let’s look at three talents from the UK that we believe you should watch in ONE in 2025.
Freddie Haggerty
The younger brother of former two-sport king and reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty, Freddie has some big shoes to fill. But he hasn’t succumbed to the pressure so far in his ONE Championship tenure. In fact, he has thrived.
The 20-year-old arrived in the promotion in January and instantly made an impact with a second-round knockout of Dakalong Sor Dechapan. Seven months later, Haggerty returned to ONE Friday Fights and scored another finish against Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang.
To top off his year, Haggerty carved out his most composed win yet by dismantling Kaoklai Chor Hapayak en route to a third-round KO at ONE Friday Fights 91 this past weekend.
With three stoppages in as many fights, the strawweight striker has set himself up for a big 2025. If he can keep delivering the goods, it won’t be long before he secures a lucrative US$100,000 contract to compete on ONE’s main roster.
George ‘G-Unit’ Jarvis
Another surging star from the south of England is George Jarvis. The 24-year-old has shown his talents across Muay Thai and kickboxing in ONE Championship, going 3-1 overall.
After a narrow-split decision loss in his debut last year, Jarvis returned at ONE Friday Fights 51 this past February and outstruck Iraqi star Mustafa Al Tekreeti to notch his first win in the series.
He then switched to kickboxing for a meeting with knockout specialist Ricardo Bravo, who had finished all his opponents in ONE up to that point. They met at ONE Friday Fights 73 in August, and “G-Unit” put in an impressive performance to score a unanimous decision win.
Jarvis returned to the Muay Thai ranks at ONE Friday Fights 85 in November and secured his second finish in ONE against Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong, which punched his ticket to ONE’s global roster.
Next year ahead is set to be a big one for the lightweight star, and he’s already made it clear that he’s gunning for gold.
Jake ‘The One’ Peacock
An unmissable entry into ONE Championship in 2024 is limb-different star Jake Peacock.
The British-Canadian striker was born with a missing forearm due to the amniotic band wrapping around the limb in the womb, but he has never let that affect his abilities. On the contrary, his difference has allowed him to be that much more of a Muay Thai anomaly.
The Road to ONE: Canada winner outstruck Kohei Shinjo across three rounds to score a win in his debut at ONE Friday Fights 58 in April, and his tricky kicks and elbows from start to finish got the striking world talking.
Fans haven’t been shy about expressing how much they want to see Peacock back in the ring, so 2025 is likely to be a banner year for the bantamweight bruiser.
