Emanuel Navarrete, junior featherweight world titlist after defending his belt on Saturday will be back in action to face Juan Miguel Elorde on September 14 according to Carl Moretti.
After his recent win against Franciso De Vaca by a one sided knock out, top promoters like Bob Arum believe that with such pace, Navarrete would soon be back on the co-feature on the Top Rank Boxing on different channels.
The fight was quite intense as Navarrete surprised everyone with his exceptional defense skills against the 24-year-old De Vaca, who came in more unknown than anything, although there was a chance that he might come as a surprise the table turned, as they did nine months ago for Navarrete. De Vaca didn’t have the power to bother Navarrete, who charged forward and did consistent damage, dropping De Vaca in the second round and finishing him off with a third round barrage that ended when referee Raul Caiz Sr stopped the fight at 1:54.
The fans are expecting a similar kind of win from Navarrete on September. 14 and so is the proud Mexican boxer himself. We only find out who takes the title home in less than a month.
