Darren Till will still box on the Misfits Boxing card on January 18 in Manchester, but he’ll face a very different opponent to the man he originally agreed to fight.
Till was booked to face Tommy Fury in the main event at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, but after a fiery press conference that saw Till vow to head-kick Fury if he was losing the fight, Fury subsequently pulled out of the contest, leaving Misfits scrambling for an opponent.
“Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight, he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics,” said Fury, as he withdrew from the contest.
Thankfully, they had a willing man in their ranks to step in. Anthony Taylor, a Misfits Boxing mainstay, has signed to replace Fury and will now face Till on January 18.
The American has become one of the most recognisable names on the Misfits Boxing roster, and has won five and lost just one of his six bouts under the Misfits banner.

Taylor, known as “Pretty Boy,” is a former MMA fighter who competed for Bellator and BAMMA earlier in his career. After compiling a 7-5 record in MMA, Taylor pivoted to the world of influencer boxing, and captured the MFB light heavyweight title in October 2023. Most recently, he defended his title with a third-round TKO of Anderson Silva’s son, Gabriel Silva, in August.
Now he’ll step in to replace Fury against Till, who will be making his Misfits Boxing debut, with the pair set to face off in a 195-pound bout in Manchester.
