American MMA athlete, Nick Newell, one of the most talented fighter made his mark in his debut under the Bellator MMA banner.
Newell (16-2), born with a congenital amputation of his left arm just below the elbow, choked out Corey Browning in the opening round of their lightweight matchup at Bellator 225 at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.
This was Newell’s second bout since losing a unanimous decision to Alex Munoz on Dana White’s Contender Series 14. Bellator signed him to a one-off deal against Browning, and on the back of that showing, it seems prospects are good that Newell will ultimately secure a multi-fight deal with the Viacom-owned promotion.
