The Bellator welterweight title is on the line in Dublin, Ireland as the Bellator cage returns to the 3Arena for Saturday night’s latest stop on the Bellator Champions Series tour.
Headlining the bout is a battle for the 170-pound title, as Jason Jackson puts his title on the line against Ramazan Kuramagomedov. Jackson captured the belt with a stunning finish of previously undefeated champion Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 301. He then cemented his status with a second-round TKO finish of former PFL champion Ray Cooper III at the PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions event in Saudi Arabia in February.
Now Jackson returns to the Bellator cage to take on undefeated Russian contender Kuramagomedov, who arrives in Dublin with a perfect 12-0 record, and back-to-back Bellator finishes in his last two outings.
In the co-main event, Irish lightweight star and former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paul “Big News” Hughes makes his Bellator/PFL debut when he takes on American veteran Bobby King in a lightweight matchup.
Hughes was the subject of much speculation when he became one of the most talented free-agents to hit the market earlier this year. Now he’s ready to make his debut under the Bellator banner, and the 11-1 talent will be looking to deliver a statement performance against King, who lost out on the scorecard in each of his last two Bellator appearances.
There’s also an important clash in Bellator’s women’s featherweight division, as Ireland’s Sinead Kavanagh faces longtime Bellator contender, Australia’s Arlene Blencowe.
And the card also features a fascinating clash between two of the organisation’s two most talented middleweights, as 7-0 Norbert Novenyi Jr. takes on 8-1 Dalton Rosta.
Ahead of fight night, the fighters took to the scale in Dublin, with all of the contenders successfully making weight for their respective matchups. Check out the full list of official weights below.
