Lightweight championship rivals Usman Nurmagomedov and Alexander Shabliy both made championship weight for their main event title fight at Bellator Champions Series San Diego.
Both defending champion Nurmagomedov and top contender Shabliy registered the same weight on the scale, coming in at 154.8 pounds for their lightweight title clash at the Penchanga Arena.
The co-main event features a matchup with championship implications for the welterweight division, as American MMA veteran Lorenz Larkin takes on Levan Chokheli in a number one contender bout. They also registered identical weights on the scale, with both men registering official weights of 170.8 pounds apiece for their welterweight matchup.
Also on the card, former welterweight champion Douglas Lima faces off against Aaron Jeffery in a middleweight matchup, and both men had no problem making weight, with Lima tipping the scale at 184.6 pounds, compared to Jeffery’s 185.4.
All 20 fighters on the card successfully hit their contracted marks to ensure the 10-fight card is locked in for Saturday night in California.
