UFC could be losing one of its biggest stars. Sources say that the fight against Georges St-Pierre could be Michael Bisping’s last fight. Bisping vs GSP is slated for 4 November at Madison Square Garden and will be one of the most exciting MMA fights in recent times.
Bisping vs GSP
Georges St-Pierre, or GSP, is considered to be one of the best, arguably the best, welterweight in UFC.
He is coming out of retirement to take on the 38-year-old Bisping, who has ruled the UFC middleweight division for some time now.
The matchup between the two is tantalizing and Dana White has finally made it happen. Some trash talk is adding to the buildup as well.
But the downside of the match is that Bisping is thinking of making it his Swan Song.
All the hits, injuries, and intense training are hard on the almost 40-year-old’s body and he has expressed the opinion that the fight with GSP could be his last ever fight.
Bisping in the UFC
Michael Bisping came into the UFC in 2006. He has fought 27 times in the UFC.
He became the middleweight champion back in June 2016. He took on Luke Rockhold and knocked him out to win the title.
Career after UFC
Michael Bisping has made good use of his skills and fame.
He has carved out a good acting career for himself, appearing in films like XXX: Return of Xander Cage alongside Vin Diesel.
He has other acting jobs lined up for the future as well.
If he does decide to go, he has a future in the action film genre.
But he hasn’t made up his mind for sure. There is always an offer that can be too enticing to refuse when it comes to MMA.
A great example is Bisping’s opponent GSP, who is coming out of retirement for a matchup that is expected to be one of the biggest draws in MMA.
Whether or not Michael Bisping retires, he still has to deal with GSP in November and like him, we should all be focused on that matchup as well.
