November 4th is almost here and with it comes the UFC 217 event. The headlining event is one of the most anticipated fight in recent MMA history…Bisping vs GSP. The returning Georges St. Pierre will take on the UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.
The fight will be a tough one for GSP because of his 4 year hiatus from the octagon and also because he is going up a weight class to take on Bisping.
Madison Square Garden in New York City will be abuzz on Saturday when UFC 217 brings these two greats of the octagon together.
Bisping vs GSP Breakdown
The super fight between Bisping and GSP comes just at the right time for UFC.
Dana White had to work hard to bring back St. Pierre, who last graced an octagon in 2013.
Michael Bisping is the heavy favorite going into the fight. He was very impressive in his win against Luke Rockhold.
He has held on to the middleweight title so far and in this fight he has a height and weight advantage over GSP.
Another factor is GSP’s lack of activity for the last 4 years. Sure, he must have been sparring and training but nothing can replicate the fight night conditions.
So he will be rusty.
GSP has the speed advantage on Bisping. And there is a reason he was considered the best MMA fighter in the world at the prime of his career.
He has dynamic fighting skills. His wrestling and athletic ability will give him a definite advantage inside the octagon at Madison Square Garden.
If GSP can pull off an upset, he will only be the 4th MMA fighter to be a champion in multiple weight classes.
Other Notable Showdowns at UFC 217
A bantamweight fight between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw will be explosive. Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk will put her straweight title on the line against Rose Namajunas.
The night will be full of amazing MMA fights but everyone will be waiting for Bisping vs GSP on the edge of their seats.
