Reigning BRAVE CF lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychkek is ready to make his return to the cage, and will put his world championship on the line at BRAVE CF 87.
Kubanychbek will take on Georgia’s Raul Tutarauli in a lightweight title fight in Alkmaar, Netherlands, on September 22 in a bout that will see the Kyrgyz star put his title on the line for the first time after his previous championship assignment fell by the wayside.
Kubanychbek was set to put his belt on the line agianst Brazilian Lucas Martins at BRAVE CF 77, but after Martins failed to make championship weight for the matchup, the contest proceeded as a non-title bout, with Kubanychbek producing a dominant performance to win via first-round finish.
His next test, and his first official title defence, will come in the Netherlands, where he’ll take on Tutarauli, who plans on succeeding where compatriots and former BRAVE CF athletes Ilia Topuria and Guram Kutateladze fell short, by capturing BRAVE CF championship gold.
Tutarauli knows what it’s like to capture belts, having done so at both featherweight and lightweight on the regional scene. His record warrants respect, too. With 34 wins against just seven losses, and 22 knockouts to his name, Tutarauli has proven finishing pedigree, and will look to make that count against Kubanychbek, who hasn’t lost a fight since 2017.
As was the case with BRAVE’s previous 2024 visit to the Netherlands, BRAVE CF 87 will take place in association with local promotion Enfusion’s ECE MMA.
