The stage is set for BRAVE Combat Federation’s second event in the Netherlands, BRAVE CF 87, as the fighters completed their weigh-in procedures ahead of the fight night on September 22 in Alkmaar.
For the main event, reigning BRAVE CF lightweight champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek weighed in at 70.3kg, while challenger Raul Tutarauli came in at 70.1kg, officially confirming the title bout.
Kubanychbek will be aiming for his first official title defense and to break BRAVE CF’s lightweight title curse, while Tutarauli hopes to become the first to defeat Kubanychbek in BRAVE CF and take the title to Georgia.
Ahead of their co-main event clash, Noach Blyden and Adrian Gralak both made weight for their middleweight bout, with Blyden weighing 84.25kg and Gralak at 84.15kg. Blyden is returning after an impressive first-round finish at BRAVE CF 83, while Gralak looks to prove that Blyden doesn’t belong in the MMA world.
For the second middleweight bout on the card, Clyde Brunswijk weighed in at 83.95kg, while Madalin Pirvulescu came in at 84.10kg, both within the division’s limit.
The fight between kickboxing star Nabil Haryouli and Afghan wrestling champion Zabiullah Mubarez will now take place at a catchweight of 68kg. However, Haryouli missed the weight limit, weighing in at 68.55kg, while Mubarez made weight at 68kg. The fight has yet to be confirmed but all parties are optimistic that it goes on as scheduled, with an expected fine going to Haryouli.
Former IMMAF champion and undefeated Bahraini superstar Rasul Magomedov weighed in at 93.15kg, while his opponent, BJJ veteran Pablo Benaion, weighed 93.05kg, both under the light heavyweight limit of 93.44kg.
BRAVE CF 87 marks BRAVE Combat Federation’s second event in the Netherlands, following BRAVE CF 83 earlier this year. The event, held in partnership with Enfusion’s ECE MMA, further showcases the organisation’s commitment to growing MMA across Europe.
