English flyweight star Muhammad Mokaev’s first bout following his return to BRAVE Combat Federation has been officially announced.
The former UFC contender is booked to face South Africa’s Luthando Biko at BRAVE CF 91, which takes place on December 13 at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain.
Biko is a is also a former Commonwealth Games gold medallist in judo, and a former flyweight champion from the respected South African promotion EFC. He heads into his BRAVE CF debut riding a four-fight win streak. Most recently, Biko claimed a unanimous decision victory over former Cage Warriors flyweight champion Samir Faiddine at Ares FC 14 in Paris back in April.
He’ll provide a stern test for the returning Mokaev, who returns to BRAVE CF after the UFC declined to offer him a new contract following his victory over Manel Kape at UFC 304.
Mokaev remains undefeated at 12-0 (1 no contest) as a pro, and 35-0 (1 no contest) overall. He steps back into the BRAVE CF roster with the option of competing on two fronts, with the flyweight and bantamweight divisions offering plenty of interesting tests for him.
Mokaev vs. Biko joins a fight card headlined by a battle for the undisputed BRAVE CF bantamweight title, as reigning 135-pound champion Nkosi Ndebele takes on Zimbabwe’s Nicholas Hwende.
Also confirmed for the card is Bahrain’s Hamza Kooheji, who makes his long-awaited return to the BRAVE CF cage to face Turkish newcomer Alperen Karabulut.
