Cage Warriors’ return to their spiritual home at the Indigo at The O2 already has a big-time title fight booked for the main card.
Cage Warriors 180 will take place at the familiar venue on Friday, November 15, with reigning bantamweight champion Liam Gittins set to put his title on the line on the main card.
Gittins captured the belt last November with a dominant victory over Scotland’s Reece McEwan to upset the odds and claim the 135-pound title. He then cemented his spot as the promotion’s premier bantamweight by capping another one-sided display with a fifth-round submission finish of Californian contender Roberto Hernandez.
Now the Next Generation star will look to add another title defence to his resume when he faces Shirzad Qadrian, who earned himself a title shot, and a cool $50,000, by winning the inaugural Cage Warriors PrizeFighter tournament earlier this summer.
The London-based bantamweight defeated rival Weslley Maia by submission in the semi-finals of the one-night tournament, then defeated hard-hitting Alexander Loof in the final to win the tournament and earn a shot at Gittins’ 135-pound strap.
Gittins vs. Qadrian is the first confirmed fight for the November 15 event, with a full lineup of additional matchups to be revealed by Cage Warriors officials in the coming weeks.
Cage Warriors 180 will stream live globally on UFC Fight Pass.
