UFC Vegas 100 took place at the UFC APEX, where Brazilian welterweight Carlos Prates put the rest of the 170-pound division on notice with a stunning display to knock out Neil Magny in the main event.
The event also saw a big debut victory for “The Dutch Knight” Reinier de Ridder, as the former two-division ONE Championship world champion made a big impression with a second-round submission finish of fellow grappling ace Gerald Meerschaert.
Canadian strawweight contender Gillian Robertson continued her good form, too, as she dominated Brazilian judoka Luana Pinheiro over three rounds to continue making inroads towards the top contenders in the 115-pound division.
And there was a packed night of fights in Bratislava, Slovakia, as Slovakian fighting legend Ivan “Buki” Buchinger produced a storming come-from-behind performance to defeat young rising star Hafeni “The Namibian Nightmare” Nafuka in the main event of Oktagon 63.
On this episode of The RDX Sports Podcast with Simon Head, RDX Sports’ Editor-in-Chief Simon Head unpacks the best of the action from the weekend, as he shares his Saturday Night Takeaways from UFC Vegas 100, with a little Oktagon 63 thrown in for good measure.
