Colby Covington has shared an interesting relationship with Jon Jones over the years. Though they were once roommates, they later devolved into enemies.
Although Covington has recently made some attempts to extend the olive branch to Jones, he still trash talks reigning UFC light heavyweight champion whenever he finds chance.
The former interim UFC welterweight champion, Colby Covington is busy visiting the Trump family but he still has time to take shots at light heavyweight king Jon Jones.
Colby Covington said of his recent peace offering to Jon Jones:
“I think it was time sensitive, I’ll destroy Jonny. I was destroying him in college, man, dumping him on his head every day in practice. You can go ask anybody in the Iowa Central wrestling room that was there when we were there.
Colby Covington further continued that Jon Jones would not be the dominant force if we see him without performance enhancing drugs.
He said:
“I’d love to get my hands on Jonny Picograms, man, If you didn’t have all those Picograms in his system, he wouldn’t be the same fighter he is today. He’s a f***ing piece of s**t.”
Covington is going to take a shot at Kamaru Usman’s UFC welterweight title. Although the bout hasn’t been confirmed yet, the UFC president Dana White insists that “Chaos” will be the next 170-pound title contender. Meanwhile, Jon Jones is all set to defend his light heavyweight gold against the knockout artist Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC 239 on July 6. This is going to be a highly anticipated PPV to take place on July 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
