Bellator President Scott Coker is happy to add ex-UFC fighter Cris Cyborg into the mix.
Cris Cyborg left as a seasoned UFC fighter after being on bad terms with UFC President Dana White. The two could never work out a boundary due to mistakes from both parties. As a result, White stated in an interview “She is free and clear to go to Bellator or any of these organizations”. Cyborg considered White to be disrespectful and called him a ‘bully’ for antagonizing her. After her most recent victory on July 27, Cyborg had already told that she will be resigning from the contract to hit the free-agent market.
Bellator was excited to welcome Cyborg “there is still work to be done, he hopes to have Cyborg locked into a contract”. The President believes that Cyborg will be an excellent addition to the 145-pound weight class. He also explained that the anticipated fight will be between Cyborg and Julia Budd (current featherweight champion). In a statement “Hopefully, we’ll have some news in the next 10 days or so”. Fans are expecting the fighter to formalize the contract soon because Cyborg is in high demand in other companies. ONE and Rizin are expected to recruit her if Bellator does not work out.
