One of the most popular UFC fighters of the last decade is coming back for more.
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone retired back in the summer of 2022 with a record of 36 wins, 17 losses, two draws. But, two years after his retirement at UFC 276 and his subsequent induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, “Cowboy” is looking to saddle up once again.
Cerrone posted to his Instagram page to share the news with his followers, as he set his target on the half-century of fights under the Zuffa banner.
“I want to go back and get two more fights,” he said in his Instagram video.
“When I retired I told you I was getting my hair done and get on steroids. The number 50 has been sitting on my mind for a while.”
Cerrone admitted that his post-fighting career has seen him getting some assistance from substances that would be banned if he was in competition. But, now he’s decided the time is right to return, he said he’s going to flush his system and make sure he’s clean before he makes his comeback.
“So, I’ve been working with Transcend for the last two years, taking TRT and a bunch of peptides,” he explained.
“Now we got a protocol for all you people that (say), ‘Oh, what if you get on it, you can’t ever come off.’
“Well, I now have to come off and piss clean, (and) fight in a few months. So, watch this.”
