Rising super-welterweight contender Eliezer Kubanza is looking to make further inroads toward the BRAVE CF super-welterweight title, and sees a victory over the division’s former champion as the perfect next step in his quest to capture 175-pound gold.
“King Kong” Kubanza picked up back-to-back victories inside the BRAVE CF cage in 2024, with wins over Salamat Orozakunov and Zagid Gaidarov at BRAVE CF 85 and 91, respectively.
Now the unbeaten fighter out of the Democratic Republic of Congo wants to face former champion Marcin Bandel, and posted to social media to respectfully call out the former titleholder.
“OG, let’s throw some hands in 2025. I’ll be honoured to share the cage with you,” Kubanza wrote.
Bandel is looking to bounce back to form after suffering back-to-back first-round losses. He lost his title to Kamal Magomedov at BRAVE CF 77 in December 2023, then got brutally knocked out by Alex Lohore at BRAVE CF 83 last May.
It means “Bomba” is keen to rebound and build some momentum in the division he once ruled. And he said that, once he’s returned to winning ways, a bout with Kubanza could potentially be next.
“When I come back to a winning streak, of course. All the best in 2025,” Bandel replied.
The 175-pound division is one of BRAVE CF’s strongest, with a host of contenders vying to take on newly-crowned champion Luiz Cado, who dethroned Magomedov last year at BRAVE CF 89.
