Protein helps your muscles heal and it is crucial for a boxer during their training and after the fight. Aside from this function, proteins are also a reserve energy source for your body.

You can find proteins in foods like lean beef, fish, eggs, etc. and you can also use protein shakes as a good source.

Fats

Boxers do not need to cut out fat from their bodies completely. You will see even Mayweather eating a burger when he is not training. But don’t overdo it because you don’t want unnecessary weight gain that you will have to cut during come training camp.

Focus on consuming healthy fats, like, Omega-3 and Omega-6. They keep the body in a proper working order. These fats are found in seafood, almonds, flax seed oil, etc.

Hydration

About 70% of your body is made of water and when you are performing high intensity activities a lot of that water leaves the body. You need to replace that water to keep your muscles properly hydrated and reduce risk of injuries or illness. The recommended amount of water is 10 glasses per day.
