Leading European MMA promotion Cage Warriors returns to the English capital for Cage Warriors 180, and they’re bringing a packed 14-fight lineup to the Indigo at The O2.
Headlining the show is a battle for the Cage Warriors light heavyweight title, as newly-crowned 205-pound champion Andy “The Vice” Clamp looks to cement his status by turning back the challenge of former middleweight champion James Webb.
The co-main event was due to feature a bantamweight title fight between champion Liam Gittins and PrizeFighter winner Shirzad Qadrian, but an injury to Gittins has forced that bout off the card and will be rescheduled to a later date.
Another fighter who lost his opponent is lightweight contender Adam Cullen, who was due to face Tobias Harila in an eagerly anticipated clash. But after the Swede sustained an injury in the lead-up to fight week, he has since withdrawn from the event. Cage Warriors matchmaker Ian Dean is currently seeking a replacement opponent in a bid to keep Cullen on the fight card.
Locked in for Saturday night in London is a featherweight bout between Jordy Bakkes and Nik Bagley, while bantamweight crowd-pleasers Weslley Maia and Alexander Loof will face off in a must-see matchup at 135 pounds.
Rising bantamweight star Jimmy Quinn also returns to action, and he’ll feature on the main card against Giovanni Fernandez.
The preliminary card is packed with familiar Cage Warriors names, including rising prospects Teddy Stringer, Tariq Pell and Jawany Scott, while the featherweight bout between Thomas Paull and Orlando Wilson Prins looks set to build some early momentum from its spot as the second fight on the prelims.
It’s a loaded lineup for London, and the action streams live via UFC Fight Pass.
