Last week, Antonio Plazibat was ruled out of the main event of GLORY 95, leaving number one contender Levi Rigters (18-2, 8 KO) without an opponent.
Bahram Rajabzadeh (69-3, 61 KO) is stepping up and has demanded a rematch to avenge his controversial loss to Rigters earlier this year.
This new main event for GLORY 95 will see the number one ranked Levi Rigters face-off against the number two ranked heavyweight contender Baham Rajabzadeh on September 21 at the Arena Zagreb in Croatia.
The two first met in an exciting back and forth war earlier this year in the semi-finals of the GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix. Sharing knockdowns, it was Rigters who was awarded a close decision victory. However, Rajabzadeh captured the attention of the 30,000 fans in arena and GLORY fans around the world that night.
Additionally, GLORY officials have confirmed that the fight will now be a five-round title eliminator with the winner moving on to challenge ‘The King of Kickboxing’ Rico Verhoeven for the GLORY heavyweight world championship, to be announced soon.
As a result of Rajabzadeh being moved to GLORY 95, rising light heavyweight star Stefan Latescu (17-3, 8 KO) will now face the explosive Cem Caceres (16-1, 13 KO) in the main event of GLORY 94 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Belgium, on August 31.
Both fighters have enjoyed great success in their respective debut year in GLORY. Latescu was awarded ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in 2023 while Caceres made a huge impact in his debut with an impressive KO victory and earning a top ten ranking. Fireworks are guaranteed in this fight.
Mory Kromah (29-2-1, 17 KO), Caceres’ original opponent, will now face Mohamed Amine (29-8, 16 KO) on the main card of GLORY 94.
GLORY officials confirmed they will be reaching out to all ticket buyers regarding these event updates.
