GLORY 95 will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, with one of the top stars in the promotion set to make his eagerly-anticipated return to action.
Welterweight contender Hamicha is set to return to the ring at the event, which takes place on September 21, when he’ll face off against French kickboxing and Muay Thai champion Cedric Do.
It’s an opportunity for Hamicha, full name Mohamed Mezouari, to extend his perfect record under the GLORY banner to 6-0, while also pushing his credentials for a shot at the GLORY welterweight title currently held by Chico Kwasi.
Hamicha is currently listed third in the official GLORY welterweight rankings, and knows that an emphatic victory against Do will strengthen his case for a shot at Kwasi later this year.
The Moroccan has won five in a row inside the GLORY ring, with his last outing seeing him defeat France’s Diaguely Camara. Now he’ll face Camara’s compatriot Do at Arena Zagreb on a card that will be headlined by a huge heavyweight clash between number-one contender Levi Rigters and Croatian superstar Antonio Plazibat.
Croatia will also be represented in another of the night’s heavyweight matchups, as former GLORY heavyweight title challenger Mladen Brestovac will compete for the final time when he faces fellow vet Vladimir “Tok” Toktasynov. The bout will be even more poignant for the retiring 40-year-old, with the 70-fight veteran bringing the curtain down on his career with a fight in his home town of Zagreb.
