The 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championships in Monterrey, Mexico, will include a youth tournament for the first time in the continental event’s history.
The 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championships will make history by introducing its inaugural Youth Tournament, following the example set by other continental tournaments like the IMMAF Asian, African and European Championships.
Scheduled to take place in Monterrey, Mexico, from August 31 to September 7, the event will feature top athletes from across the region, building upon the success of its previous edition held in Bogota, Colombia, as part of the 2023 BRAVE Pan American Combat Week.
This year’s championships coincide closely with the IMMAF Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi, set to start on August 6, where over 800 athletes from 45 nations are expected to compete.
The inclusion of a Youth Tournament at the Pan American Championships allows athletes from the region with the unique opportunity to continue honing their skillsets on a regional level.
In a similar move, the IMMAF African Championships recently introduced a Youth Tournament, resulting in Gisela Luna becoming Africa’s first-ever youth continental champion.
The forthcoming Pan American Championships will follow suit, marking August as a significant month for IMMAF with three major events worldwide: the Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi, the Asian Championships in Pakistan, and the Pan American Championships in Mexico, ensuring extensive opportunities for athletes to compete on a global scale.
