Jake Paul added another win to his growing boxing record with a sixth-round TKO finish of BKFC star Mike Perry, then called for a matchup with UFC superstar Alex Pereira.
Paul proved to be too big, too fast and too powerful for a game Perry, who may have stepped into the ring as much as 30 pounds lighter than “El Gallo” on fight night at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
And, despite Perry showing plenty of the guts and determination that made him a fan-favourite in the UFC and BKFC, he couldn’t overcome the punch power of Paul, who dropped “Platinum” three times en route to his 10th career victory.
After his victory, Paul set the table for his upcoming bout with Mike Tyson, before turning his attention to Pereira, the former two-division GLORY kickboxing world champion who has since switched to MMA and captured UFC world titles at both middleweight and light heavyweight.
“Mike Tyson! You’re next, big boy. Sign the contract!” he said.
“I’m excited for that one. I’m gonna go home and prepare for that. And Alex Pereira, you said you wanna box. I’m the king of this. Come over, we can make it happen. I want you, Alex Pereira.
“I just beat a BKFC champion, I’ve beat multiple UFC champions, and he said he wants to box. So, Alex Pereira, after Mike Tyson let’s make it happen.”
The event also saw a one-sided win for Amanda Serrano, who breezed to victory against a hopelessly outgunned Stevie Morgan, then stated that her upcoming bout with Katie Taylor on November 15 will deliver a different result from the first fight, which Taylor won via split decision.
“We’re going to show that women can fight, put on a show, and sell,” she declared.
“But this time, (the result) is going to be a lot different.”
