Calvin Kattar and Zabit Magomedsharipov will now clash in a featherweight bout at UFC Moscow on Nov. 9 after originally being scheduled to fight at UFC Boston on Oct. 18. The change in date and venue is now confirmed by the media.
Apparently, the reason for Magomedsharipov’s withdrawal from the original date and the rescheduling is due to his injury.
Kattar from Massachusetts, suffered the lone loss of his octagon career to Renato Moicano at UFC 223, has won back-to-back fights. The 31-year-old followed up a first-round TKO of Chris Fishgold with a knockout of Ricardo Lamas at UFC 238 in June. The fight-ending sequence from Kattar actually resulted in a broken jaw for the former UFC title challenger.
The 28-year-old, Magomedsharipov, has impressively climbed the ranks of the UFC featherweight division during his five bouts under the promotion’s banner and is currently riding a 13-fight win streak. After submitting Mike Santiago and Sheymon Moraes, Magomedsharipov crushed Kyle Bochniak at UFC 223 which earned “Fight of the Night” honors.
