It is now officially confirmed that undefeated UFC lightweight champion, “The Eagle”, is officially retired and won’t be returning back.
On 18th march 2021, Dana White, UFC president surrenders his efforts to convince the Russian to come back to the arena for one last fight. Khabib announced his retirement after a dominating title defense against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on October 24, 2020 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
After the match, Khabib announced that it was his last match and is retiring from the sport as he has made a promise to his mother. White was of the view that the decision was a result of an emotional moment and will eventually convince Nurmagomedov to return to the UFC.
Despite his best efforts, Dana was unable to convince Khabib to come back. Dana wrote on twitter, “29-0 it is,” while posting a photo alongside Russian Champ. “He is 100{317a7769e272dec17b69bda26c6a5a4c5e6799efcd8a85f72cb552b76862c2b9} officially retired.
