Muhammad Mokaev is fast approaching his return to the BRAVE Combat Federation cage. And, at just 24 years of age, his best years are still ahead of him.
The English former amateur phenom, who remains undefeated across both amateur and professional competition, returns to the BRAVE CF action at BRAVE CF 91, where he’ll take on South African striker Luthando Biko during BRAVE International Combat Week.
It’s an opportunity for the Russian-born star to re-establish his credentials as one of the best flyweight fighters on the planet, and speaking from his Bahrain training camp ahead of the December 13 matchup, he’s itching to get back into the cage to compete again.
“I see a lot of people recognise that I’m one of the best flyweights in the world. But I believe I’m still young, I’m still not in my prime,” he said.
“I’m winning because of my hard work. I think once I get in my physical prime, like around 26 or 27, I’ll be even stronger and that’s when you’ll see the difference. I will be the pound-for-pound number-one fighter in the world!
“When you’re going against the best in the world, you have to sacrifice everything. That’s what separates a champion from a non-champion.”
Mokaev’s return forms part of a packed week for BRAVE CF, who will stage two events in the space of seven days, with BRAVE CF 91 and 92 both coming from Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain.
And, if he produces the sort of performance he’s expecting, Mokaev is likely to be the talk of the town in Isa Town later this month.
