Oktagon MMA’s Tipsport Gamechanger is rapidly approaching its climax, with the Czech city of Brno set to determine which two fighters head to the tournament’s finale.
The lightweight tournament has captured the imagination, with a stacked lineup of seasoned European 155-pounders vying for tournament glory and the €1 million prize.
Now, the tournament has reached the semi-final stage, and both final four matchups will take place on September 21 in Brno, where the Winning Group Arena will play host to Oktagon 61.
Oktagon officials have announced a stacked lineup of bouts for the event, with both Tipsport Gamechanger semi-finals set for the top end of the fight card.
The first semi-final will see former Oktagon lightweight champion, and current featherweight king, Losene Keita, take on the promotion’s first-ever lightweight champion, Poland’s Mateusz Legeirski, in a battle between two former lightweight champions who never lost their titles in the cage.
The second semi-final will form the main event of the evening, as current lightweight champion, Slovakia’s Ronald Paradeiser, faces off against No. 3-ranked Spanish contender Acoidan Duque for the second spot in the tournament final.
The two Tipsport Gamechanger semi-finals are backed up with a host of big matchups, including the return to the promotion of former UFC middleweight Makhmud Muradov, who takes on former KSW champion and UFC veteran Scott Askham in a huge matchup for the 185-pound division.
There’s also a tournament reserve bout between Turkey’s Attila Korkmaz and Dutch former Cage Warriors champion Agy Sardari, while Czech welterweight favourite Andrej Kalasnik faces Greece’s Ioannis Palaiologos, and featherweights Vladimir Lengal and Corey Fry get set to face off at 145 pounds.
Additionally, former bantamweight contender Jack Cartwright moves up to featherweight to take on former 145-pound champion Mate Sanikidze.
