On October 12 in Frankfurt, Germany, Oktagon MMA hosted one of the biggest MMA events of all time in front of 59,000 fans at Deutsche Bank Park. RDX Sports’ Simon Head was there, and he recorded a special show live from the stadium throughout fight night in Frankfurt.
On the pod, Simon provided live reaction from press row as the action unfolded at Eintracht Frankfurt’s stadium. He chatted to fellow journalist James Sweetnam to unpack the key results, and also grabbed some post-fight reaction backstage from Irish light heavyweight Will Fleury, who scored the knockout of the night with a one-shot KO of former interim champion Pavel Langer.
Simon also chatted to Oktagon MMA’s international press manager, Scott Lagdon, about the rise of the promotion in Europe, and the organisation’s growth in Germany, in particular.
Finally, Simon heard some post-fight reaction from Oktagon’s co-owners and founders, Pavol Neruda and Ondrej Novotny, as they shared their immediate thoughts at the post-fight press conference.
