Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury went eye to eye for a staggering 11 minutes ahead of their heavyweight title rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The battle lines have been drawn ahead of the world title rematch between Usyk and Fury, with neither man planning on backing down in the return match.
The bout sees the pair return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a titanic clash for Usyk’s WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles, with both men looking to deliver a decisive victory after Usyk’s split-decision victory over Fury back in May.
And, in a press conference full of big talk, there was an even bigger faceoff as the pair stared holes through each other for an incredible 11 minutes before eventually being separated.
Fury went on the offensive from his opening remarks as he made very clear how he plans to approach the rematch.
“I’m gonna dish out a whole lot of pain,” Fury stated.
“I’m gonna put this f****r in the hurt locker, for sure.”
Later, he picked up the same thread, saying, “I’ve got nothing to say, apart from that there’s going to be a whole lot of hurt and pain in this fight.
“You watch. That’s all I’ve got to say. The talking’s been done. The first fight I talked, I joked — all my career. This time I’m serious, I’m gonna do some f*****g damage here Saturday night. Watch me go to work on this f****r.”
Usyk appeared much more reserved and controlled, and signed off with a short, but simple, warning for Fury.
“Don’t be afraid,” he told the former WBC champion.
“I will not leave you alone. See you on Saturday!”
Following their press conference comments, it was time for the pair to go face to face for the cameras, and the 11-minute staredown that followed showed a glimpse into both men’s stubborn psyches ahead of their rematch.
