ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion and No. 1-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender Superbon delivered a statement performance at ONE Friday Fights 81 with a first-round finish of the No. 2-ranked contender “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in their Muay Thai main event at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
Superbon set about his work from the opening bell as he quickly established his striking range and connected with big head kicks and damaging elbows on Nattawut, who tried in vain to stem the tide with strikes of his own. But he was unable to stop the striking onslaught from Superbon.
And it was during Nattawut’s attempt to force Superbon onto his back foot that the interim kickboxing world champ made the crucial breakthrough, with a counter elbow knocking out Nattawut as “Smokin” Jo attempted to unload a combination of shots.
The co-main event saw Kiamran Nabati defeat former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama as he claimed the biggest win of his career to date.
The night also saw victories for former ONE world champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao and kickboxing star Takeru Segawa, who knocked out Thant Zin in the second round of his flyweight kickboxing bout.
