The PFL’s lightweight and light heavyweight divisions are set for action this weekend as the PFL’s 2024 regular season rolls on in Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday night.
Ahead of fight night, the athletes took to the scale to register their official weights for their respective matchups, with just one fighter failing to his their contracted mark.
The main event takes place in the lightweight division, as Clay Collard takes on Mads Burnell, and both men weighed in under the 156-pound limit for their headlining matchup, with Collard coming in at 155.8, and Burnell tipping the scale at 155.6
The co-main event sees 2023 light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay (204.8) look to continue his success inside the PFL SmartCage when he faces heavy-handed PFL Europe champion Jakob Nedoh (206), while also at light heavyweight, Australia’s former champion Rob Wilkinson (204.8) takes on American Josh Silveira (206) in a fascinating clash between two of the top contenders in the division that, after a fun sit-down interview between the pair, now has added stakes, with the loser set to lose their trademark mullet.
There’s an all-Brazil clash at lightweight, as former Bellator lightweight champion Patricky Pitbull (155) faces off against Bruno Miranda (154.6), while on the prelims, former PFL welterweight champion Sadibou Sy (205.2) takes on England’s Tom Breese (206) in an all-European light heavyweight matchup.
The only fighter to miss weight was American lightweight Solomon Renfro, who came in 0.4 pounds over the lightweight limit for his bout against former Bellator champion Brent Primus. As a result, Renfro is docked one point from his season total, and is fined 20 percent of his fight purse. The bout will continue as scheduled, with both men still eligible to earn points toward their season totals.
