Leading boxing promoters Queensberry Promotions have announced new long-term promotional contracts with six of their champions.
Topping the list is WBA world featherweight champion Nick Ball, who completed the first defence of his title with victory over Ronny Rios last month, and he’s joined by IBF and IBO super featherweight world champion Anthony Cacace, who retained his IBO title with victory over Josh Warrington at Wembley Stadium.
Also signing new promotional deals with Queensberry are IBO super bantamweight world champion Liam Davies and surging middleweight contender Hamzah Sheeraz. Davies is set to return to action against Shabaz Masoud in Birmingham on November 2, while Sheeraz is plotting his next move after skippering Team Queensberry in their victorious 5 v 5 win over Team Matchroom, and added the European middleweight title to his Commonwealth and WBC Silver belts with victory over Tyler Denny at Wembley.
Additionally, rising heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma has also inked a new deal with Queensberry. The 10-0 prospect has been earmarked for great things at heavyweight, and will look to continue his development when he takes on 22-1 Demsey McKean on the undercard of the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. And he’s joined by British, Commonwealth and European lightweight champion Sam Noakes, who will continue his 15-0 career under the Queensberry banner after signing a new extended deal with the promotion.
“I am thrilled to secure the futures of eight such richly talented fighters,” said promoter Frank Warren
“We have worked with nearly all of them right from the beginning or very early in their careers and the faith we have shown in each other has been rewarded by them realising their potential and justifying the belief we had in them.
“That Nick Ball, Anto Cacace and Liam Davies have reached world title status is a particular joy, and the good news is that I am certain there are more world champions to come from this group, who are all set for further exciting developments in the coming months.”
