The UFC light heavyweight title will be on the line in Salt Lake City, Utah at UFC 307, with UFC CEO Dana White announcing that Alex Pereira will put his belt on the line against hard-hitting challenger Khalil Rountree Jr.
White announced the matchup on social media as he laid out the key stats heading into fight night on October 5 at Delta Center.
“Pereira is on a tear, and looking to make his third title defence this year,” said White.
“Each of his last three fights have ended in knockouts, beating previous champs Jamahal Hill, and Jiri Prochazka, twice!
“He will face Khalil Rountree, who is on a five-fight win streak, with four of those ending in knockouts.”
