Former title challenger Alex Perez and rising contender Tatsuro Taira both made weight ahead of their main event matchup at UFC Vegas 93.
Perez and Taira both tipped the scale at the non-title flyweight limit of 126 pounds for their card-topping clash at the UFC Apex on Saturday night as they locked in their participation in a flyweight contest with serious implications for both men.
The co-main event features bantamweights Douglas Silva de Andrade and Miles Johns, and they had no issues on the scale, coming in at 136 and 135 pounds, respectively.
There was one notable weight miss, as Tagir Ulanbekov failed to make weight for his flyweight bout with Joshua Van. Ulanbekov tipped the scale at 129.5 pounds, 3.5 pounds over the non-title limit, while Van came in half a pound inside the limit, at 125.5.
As a result of Ulanbekov’s weight miss, his bout with Van has been removed from the fight card, reducing the lineup to 11 bouts.
