Moldova’s Serghei Spivac showcased his evolution as a UFC heavyweight with a first-round armbar finish of Polish veteran Marcin Tybura at UFC Vegas 95.

The pair faced off in a heavyweight rematch, more than four years after their first meeting back at UFC Norfolk in Virginia back in 2020. Tybura took the victory on that occasion, winning via unanimous decision.

But the judges weren’t required for the rematch, as Spivac claimed arguably his best win in the UFC to date with an armbar finish just 104 seconds into their main event clash at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

The event saw finishes at a premium, with seven of the 10 bouts going the distance on a busy night for the judges, but Spivac’s victory stood out as the highlight moment of the night.

Also claiming inside-the-distance victories were Toshiomi Kazuma, who finished Charalampos Grigoriou via second-round triangle choke, and Youssef Zalal, who submitted Jarno Errens with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

But it was Spivac’s night, and “The Polar Bear” even received a gift on social media, courtesy of fellow top-10 heavyweight Jailton Almeida, who offered to be his next dance partner.

“Spivac, do you want someone above you in the rankings?” Almeida posted on X.

“I’m here! #7 vs #8. I want to fight Bro! Happy you get the finish early, so we can fight soon!”
