The undefeated heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is going to face Christian Hammer on Saturday at the O2 Arena in London. The fight will showcase what Tyson has in store for the upcoming mega-match with the unified heavyweight world champion Wladmir Klitschko.
Saturday’s showdown between Hammer and Fury is critical for Tyson for two reasons. Firstly, HBO president Ken Herschman is going to be a ringside spectator. Secondly, the result of this fight is going to have a huge impact on the confidence level of the British boxer.
Tyson’s promoter Frank Warren is sure of a positive result out of the battle with Klitschko. However, Warren wasn’t too sure about the venue of the fight. Naming London as the favorite place for the big-fight, Warren enlightened that Wembley and Arsenal’s Emirate stadium were under review.
Citing Fury’s outstanding victory against Dereck Chisora, Warren believes that victory over Klitschko is imminent if Fury uses the home ground to his advantage. Fury’s large fan base has been eagerly waiting for this match-up for a long time.
It is worth mentioning that last year Fury was fined by the British Boxing Board for using foul mouth in a press conference. His unsportsmanlike conduct met much disapproval which consequently took the wind out of Fury’s sails.
Fury’s dad, John feels positive that his son has sobered up and moved on. “You’re going to see another Tyson Fury from this day on”, said John. “We don’t want any more bad language, no more flipping out; there is no need for it.”
