Google is sort of everyone’s personal trainer when it comes to couch potatoes who decide to start working out just because they are bored, they notice that they are gaining weight or even looking for a hobby right away. In any case, you have one goal in mind: How to get in shape?
Answer is simple, research training material, look at experts training basic exercises on Youtube and yes, ask your friends who are already into gym and fitness.
Will it be enough though? Probably not.
You’ll need guidance in order to retain a shape that satisfies either one of the purposes mentioned above. Every plan or routine revolves around factors like age, weight, goals, time, diet etc. So a good suggestion would be to observe what you need in order to start these best workout exercises. Of course, doing it on your own can be difficult but it is not impossible.
You know yourself better than anyone else and that is how you will figure out what you need and what works best for your body type.
Determining timeline
First step is to determine exactly how much time you can allocate to your exercise. Thirty minutes every day is a pretty good start but making it a good 1 hour would be perfect. Commit to whatever time you get. Inconsistency and giving up does not fit in a routine.
Determine Exercises
Okay, so the basics are simple. Start simple and then advance towards the intense level. You will have to prepare your mind and then start afresh. Make a workout plan for yourself which involves exercising for 20-30 minutes at first. E.g. you can start with a 10 min brisk walk as warm up and then go for 10 full fledge squats. Along with that target another muscle group such as shoulder or arm. You can do 10 reps of bicep curls and then take rest in between. Proceed towards leg curl and then come to dips. You can alternately decide between the two muscles or do one first and the other later. It depends upon you.
There’s no One Size Fits All!
Just like one garment size cannot fit everyone, similarly, one strategy or one pattern of exercise cannot work for everyone. Everybody has a different body type and different kinds of exercises work for them. You cannot just term one of the workouts to work for everyone. You can say that for the basic workouts such as squats, lunges or dead lifts etc. they are basic and benefit everyone. To figure out what serves your body requirements, you need to experiment a little with your body to find out what is working for you and what isn’t. Remember that only working out will not help you achieve your desired results. You will have to incorporate a good balanced diet to achieve the optimum results.
It’s all in your Mind
Always, always keep in mind that when you want to work out, you need to have a strong will and your mind needs to be fully focused on what you want to achieve. If you lack motivation or do not feel like completing a set, your mind needs to be in a strong position to push you into finishing the set.
Remember, the best work out needs to be a combination of the basic categories of work out. Cardio, Strength and Conditioning. If you’re incorporating all these in your daily workout regime, consider your workout perfect, now it’s up to you to see how many reps and sets work best for you.
