Cancellation An Obstacle Or Silver Lining?
Demetrius Andrade postponed/delayed the boxing match against Zach Parker, because of a shoulder injury in May. The fight was scheduled for May the 21st, but is now confirmed to be not happening, at least not this year. Furthermore the fight was to take place in Zach’s hometown Derbyshire, England, at the Pride Park Stadium, where thousands of football (soccer) fans gather every weekend.
During this time “The Rams” fan, Zach “Attack” Parker hasn’t skipped a beat. He’s training harder and is even more pumped up for his next match. His mindset is clear and he’s patiently awaiting “Boo Boo” to get back in the right mindset so they can fire up the engines and give all of us boxing fans a memorable and explosive fight.
Team RDX’s Zach Parker had an interview earlier this week with Derby County club partner Bristol Street Motors, highlighting his calm and collected mindset coming into the termination of the match and Andrade’s shoulder injury. Andrade was due to move up to the super middleweight limit to face Zach for the WBO’s interim-title but withdrew a few weeks before the fight.
Parker (22-0, 16 KOs) has scored five consecutive stoppage victories since a split-decision win in 2018. Zach Parker was set to compete on the world-class level for the first time at the age of 27, with the Andrade bout.
The WBO have terminated their sanctioning of the WBO 'interim' super-middleweight belt for Demetrius Andrade vs Zach Parker as Andrade's injury is set to rule him out for months. Fight will not be rescheduled, Frank Warren has been refunded his purse bid deposit.

The Silver Lining
This was supposed to be the fight that determined who would fight Canelo Alvarez next, but since it’s been canceled, we believe Zach’s opportunities have greatly improved. Promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions had this to say when the fight was still together:
https://www.frankwarren.com/fighters/zach-parker/
“It is going to be such a special occasion for Zach and the people of Derby. And promises to be a spectacular event. It will be an emotional experience for Zach to be roared on by the Derby public who he sits alongside cheering on the Rams. Zach can use the power and emotion of the crowd to his advantage and he will need to be at his very best to overcome an unbeaten world champion like Andrade.”
What’s next in store for Zach? No one knows. He has been away from the limelight and has his eyes on the championship. With an unhindered and unshakable mindset, he has not let these turn of events dishearten him. On the contrary, he has risen to the challenge. And has made it evident that he needs to be ready for any opportunity. Bringing him closer to the championship in the future.
RDX Sports stands by Zach through this time. And will be supporting him during this training period. We hope that his next fight is the one that brings him face to face with Canelo. Until this next match gets finalized, Team RDX has their eyes on Parker. We will always be in his corner helping the team to Move, Improve And Evolve.
