Zelfa ‘Brown Flash’ Barrett vs Faroukh Kourbanov

This Saturday we shall bear witness to a title fight of Super Featherweight proportions, that title, the EBU European Super Featherweight Title, is currently in the possession of first time defending champion Faroukh Kourbanov. Against him will be fighting two title holding Zelfa “Brown Flash” Barrett, whose current belts cover both the IBF Inter-Continental and Commonwealth, Super Featherweight titles. Zelfa Flash intends to add yet another belt to that list following in the footsteps of his Uncle, Coach and Legend Pat “Black Flash” Barrett.

Two Super Super Featherweights Clash

The title fight will take place this Saturday June 4th, 2022 in Cardiff, Wales and is being organized by Matchroom Boxing and Chairman Eddie Hearn. Both fighters are coming off victories and wins in their own rights with Zelfa’s last fights being successful and dominant title defenses. Those defenses have been piling up Brown Flashes’ win streak since mid 2018, he now securely lies on 8  clean wins out of his immaculate record of 27 wins and only 1 loss against Ronnie Clark early in 2018.

On the other hand Kourbanov’s last fight against Nicola Henchiri was for his claim on the vacant EBU Super Featherweight Title. The skillful Kyrgyzstani orthodox Boxer took the belt out under Henchiri’s legs with a Majority Decision win after a full 12 rounds despite being a substitute for the fight itself. His record now stands on 19 wins and 3 losses out of 22 bouts that he’s participated in.
