The much-talked about showdown between top Featherweights, Chan Sung Jung and Brian Ortega, has been made official. The two fighters will headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night 165 event on December 21 2019, at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.
“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung is ready to fight in his home country as he faces Brian Ortega. This bout between fellow former featherweight title contenders will serve as the show’s main event.
Jung is looking to get back into the action for the second straight time following his TKO win over Renato Moicano in June 2019. Before that win, Jung suffered an upsetting knockout loss to the Yair Rodriguez.
On the other hand, this would be Ortega’s first bout since losing to current UFC Featherweight champion, Max Holloway at UFC 231 in December 2018. Prior to the defeat, Ortega was undefeated in his MMA career, 14-0 in eight UFC appearances.
Ortega and Jung are ranked as number two and six featherweights, respectively.
