A welterweight fight between Andrey Koreshkov and Lorenz Larkin has been re-booked.

Bellator MMA president Scott Coker announced that Koreshkov (22-3 MMA, 13-3 BMMA) and Larkin (20-7 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) will face each other in the main event of Bellator 229 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, on Oct. 4.

The two fighters were originally set to meet at Bellator 219 this March but Larkin had to withdraw due to an injury.

The Former Bellator Welterweight Champion Andrey Koreshkov, 29 bounced back from a technical submission loss to Douglas Lima in the quarterfinals of the Welterweight Grand Prix by defeating short-notice replacement Mike Jasper at Bellator 219 in March by unanimous decision.

The former heavyweight-turned-welterweight, Larkin, 32 is coming off back-to-back wins in the Bellator cage by picking up consecutive decision wins over Ion Pascu and Fernando Gonzalez. This will be Larkin’s second time headlining a Bellator show.
