Fight Recap – Darrion Caldwell vs. Noad Lahat

The first round initially didn’t seem too promising for the American artist. As he worked to evade shots from the raging Lahat, and had to face a takedown. This turned tables around and the eager Wolf started commanding the round and tried executing some lethal shots. However, Lahat’s ability to take damage didn’t enable the Wolf to do inflict serious harm.

The second round garnered fruitful action from the New Jersey native. After a takedown from Caldwell, the Israeli artist tried to position himself against the fence. Sensing opportunity, Caldwell managed to get a hook in by spinning his back. Since the 34-year-old artist failed to evade the agonizing shots, Caldwell discovered his Achilles Heel, dispatching a defining shot in an attempt to seal the bantamweight affair in his favour. The Wolf dashed in hopes to finish Load’s business with a rear-naked choke. However, the Israeli artist was determined to fight till the last as he hopelessly tried to scramble away. But Caldwell wasn’t ready to let go of this golden chance as he jumped on his back, throwing non-stop rights onto his opponent’s head until the referee Mike Beltran had to blow his whistle.  With this win, Caldwell scored a spot for featherweight title contention. The KO was timed at 2.46 R2.

While speaking to the media after his victory, this is what the player had to say,

“I feel good. I’m just grateful to be able to come back to a fight. A lot of shit happens so to be able to get back in the cage means a lot to me. I’m looking for the armpit brothers. They talk a lot of shit. You keep talking shit and don’t want a fight. Really? Step up. Sign a contract, sign it against me and let’s do this. Alliance MMA has the best fighters in the world. Expect us to come out in 2019 strong.”

After putting a KO stoppage to his counterpart rival, Caldwell summoned Patricio Freire’s name to prove his caliber in featherweight division.
