After proving that he is amongst the pro league of welterweight artists, Tyron Woodley is being challenged by Colby Covington to lock horns with him next in UFC 230.

With the reigning champion squaring off with interim champion in a welterweight, the potential fight would definitely provide an adrenaline boosting experience. Moreover, the fight is going to be quite hyped up too since 30-year-old American artist has been consistently attacking the current victor with his trash talk to which the Chosen One has been responding to quite often.

There is no denying that the fight would be offering spectacular dynamics, considering the unique style matchup and impressive resumes of the fighters. However, in the eyes of Covington, the bout would garner more enthusiasm and deliver greater action that the main card bout of UFC 229 Nurmagomedov vs. Conor. Chaos believes that his fight has a lot of essence and Nurmagomedov vs. Conor is merely a fancy backdrop.

While expressing his views on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, this is what the boastful artist had to say,

“Without a doubt it will be Covington vs. Woodley [that’s bigger]. The sides in the line that are going to be drawn, the anger, the story line, we have a serious history. Everybody knows that. There’s too much juiciness in that fight.”

Chaos further added,

“The Conor and Khabib fight, yeah that’s cool, but, Conor is just looking to get paid and Khabib, all he does is wrestle. They are little lightweights, that’s the JV side. If you want to come up in weight come up to the varsity squad.”

Right now UFC hasn’t made any official statement about a fight between Woodley and Covington, though Covington has already challenged the brawly victor to meet him on the octagon during UFC 230, which is scheduled for November 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Woodley, on the other hand, has been voicing his opinion that Covington didn’t deserve a title shot. However, the 4-time welterweight champion is willing to face Covington, if an offer comes through.

While speaking at a post-fight UFC 228 conference, Tyron said,

“I’m not saying I am gonna fight him, because I don’t feel like he deserves my platform right now. He had his chance to be here. He bitched out, if you want to be honest and frank. He talked all this crap and when he got in the hot seat, the second he won that belt, I said, ‘Let’s come get this smoke.’ He got quiet. Instagram accounts got taken down for a brief moment and he didn’t say nothing.”

 He further added,

“I think it’s an embarrassment to the sport and if that’s the next person that’s gotta get the work, you don’t have to do much to get me up for that fight. We’ll see.”

It is a no-brainer that a massive fight between Tryon Woodley and Colby Convington is underway. However, the only question is, how big can it get?
