Doo Ho Choi is set to fight Charles Jourdain in a featherweight bout UFC 165, which is to take place on Dec. 21 at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea. The news was announced by the UFC officials on Wednesday night.
“The Korean Superboy” returns to the Octagon for the first time since January 2018 where he lost the fight via second-round TKO to Jeremy Stephens in the main event of UFC Fight Night 124. The 28-year-old fighter is on a two-fight skid; in both defeats he earned Fight of the Night awards. Earlier Choi was unbeaten in the Las Vegas based company, having compiled a 3-0 start with all wins coming via stoppage.
Meanwhile Jourdain, a former TKO featherweight and interim lightweight champion, debuted in the UFC Fight Night 152 in May, where he suffered a decision loss to Desmond Green. The 23-year-old Canadian is 9-2 as a professional fighter.
UFC Busan is likely to be headlined by a crucial featherweight fight between former title challenger Brian Ortega and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.
