Frankie Edgar explained that he is willing to take on Conor McGregor at any weight.
Despite recently moving to bantamweight weight, Edgar elaborated his potential interest in fighting McGregor. The fighter also explained that he is willing to change his weight according to the preference of McGregor. In an interview with ESPN, McGregor spoke about his preferred opponents that included Edgar. During the interview, the fighter further discussed his respect for Edwards due to his similarities with Khabib Nurmagomedov. He stated, “Frankie Edgar is also up there, there at the top of the list”.
Edgar has been respectful towards his McGregor as mentioned in the interview. Former lightweight champion Edgar (23-7-1 MMA, 17-7-1 UFC) challenged McGregor on Instagram using Sunday. After hearing McGregor’s recognition, Edgar posted ‘You know I’m down to fight @thenotoriousmma it should have happened a long time ago”.
Edgar recently fought against Max Holloway at UFC 240 and lost. This marks the third attempt for the featherweight title. This 37-year old fighter will be looking for new fights and potential wins at the bantamweight division.
McGregor on the other hand, is looking to make his return to the Octagon after being defamed numerous times. The fighter is looking to re-establish his popularity using the Octagon.
