Gennady Golovkin will fight Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on 16 Sep at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It is the first time that these two boxing talents will face off against each other. The Golovkin vs Alvarez fight has been dubbed Supremacy, for good reason.

Winner of Golovkin vs Alvarez

If one looks at any recent best pound-for-pound boxers list, Golovkin and Alvarez are permanent fixtures on all of them.

Boxing experts and former fighters all agree that both of these fighters are always at the top in any pound-for-pound fighter conversation.

So it’s natural that people are of the opinion that the winner of this bout should be considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

The Supremacy Fight

The September 16 fight has more on the line than Golovkin’s IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBC middleweight championships.

This is a fight between two of the hottest boxers in the world right now.

Gennady Golovkin hasn’t lost a fight his entire career, going 37-0. He won 33 of those fights via KO.

The side of the equation is just as intriguing.

Canelo Alvarez has fought in an amazing 51 fights so far, with only a single loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Alvarez is the biggest challenge that Golovkin has faced and at 35, he will need to pull out all the stops to beat the young Mexican.

Still many believe that this fight may not go the distance because of the punching prowess of Golovkin.

But Canelo will make it an interesting fight and it will be closer than the boxing pundits’ predictions.

An Explosive Fight

Whatever the result, millions of boxing fans should prepare for an explosive fight that will have plenty of fireworks.

Both fighters are currently in the midst of preparations for the fight and if their training intensity is any indication, this will be a fight for the ages.
