All the precaution that Dana White took to keep the tickets of Mayweather vs. McGregor from being resold at ridiculous prices has been for naught. The ticket selling website StubHub has tickets on sale for as much as $150,000 or £115,000.

That is enough to put a dent in your life savings.

The Richest Fight in History

When the tickets went on sale for the general public the prices for them were already higher than any boxing match in history.

The cheapest tickets were priced at an incredible £1983 and the priciest tickets were available for a hefty £19147.

But what Dana White feared would happen, did happen.

When Mayweather vs. Pacquiao took place in 2015, the tickets were sold without any cautionary implementations. Tickets hawkers were selling tickets online the next day for hugely inflated prices.

History is repeating itself for Mayweather-McGregor.

The reason White chose Ticketmaster to sell the tickets was for the security code that is required to complete the purchase of tickets. There was also a limit of 2 tickets per person to make sure no one took advantage of boxing fans later.

That’s exactly what happened.

It seems White underestimated people’s desire to make extra bucks wherever possible.

Just a day later the tickets went on sale, tickets were being resold at StubHub for ludicrous amounts of money.

Tickets are priced at £75,000 to £115,000.

The richest fight in history just got even richer.
