A.J. McKee continued to dominate the featherweight division when he knocked out veteran Georgi Karakhanyan in just eight seconds on the main card of the Bellator 228 event on Sat., Sept. 28, 2019. With this successful win, the young American MMA artist advanced into the quarterfinals of the Bellator 145-pound grand prix. It was the second-fastest finish in Bellator MMA history.

McKee, who got in Karakhanyan’s face as he circled the cage during his entrance, dropped Karakhanyan (28-10-1 MMA, 6-8 BMMA) with a perfectly-timed overhand left to the jaw. From here, McKee landed a few more punches until the fight was waved off.

With his 10th career victory via finish, McKee extended his Bellator record winning streak to 15. This win over Karakhanyan now pushes McKee into the second round of the Featherweight World Grand Prix tournament where the 24-year-old can prove yet again that he’s ready for anyone at 145 pounds.
