The 25 year old mixed martial artist took it to her Instagram where she expressed that female fighters are paid less as compared to male fighters. The fighter emphasized on the fact that she wants to be paid significantly more, not only for her talent but a salary that matches her male peers.

Paige made it very clear that she makes way more money sitting at home than she does with fighting. “With endorsements, I make way more money sitting at home posting pictures on Instagram than I do fighting,” says VanZant, who has 2.3 million Instagram followers. “If I were to stop everything I do outside of fighting and just fight, I would be at a loss financially by a long shot.”

Let’s just face it, social media is so powerful these days that it can help you earn money easily or land you in trouble even more easily. It worked well for Paige.

VanZant has been out for most of the year after injuring her arm in February. “If I’m gonna keep breaking my arm, if I’m gonna keep bleeding and sacrificing for this sport, I think that all fighters and all female fighters need to be recognized,” she said.

Paige VanZant made a point and also said, “When I did my contract negotiation the last time, the talk was, “I can’t pay you more than a female champion.’ Okay, but why are comparing me to just women? All of us should be getting paid more in general.”
