British heavyweight Joe Joyce has come forward to warn Jarrell Miller that provoking Anthony Joshua is not a good idea ahead of their world title bout.

Miller and Joshua had a fiery affair during at a press conference on Tuesday in New York. Jarrell Miller heavily pushed Anthony Joshua and called him ‘Uncle Tom’, among other insults.

This aggravated the usually calm and cool Joshua enough that he promised to knock Miller Miller ‘the f*** out’. Joe Joyce, Joshua’s team-member in GB Olympic boxing, said that ‘Big Baby’ made a mistake by infuriating the Briton.

Joe Joyce, 33, said:

“It got a bit tasty. It’s in him, he used to be a bouncer and a bit of a street kid so he has that side to him and it just came out.

“Being angry makes him even more dangerous, especially when he starts swinging those big arms around, but it has got people talking about his New York debut, it is going to be a good fight.

“His image has been polished but this has got people talking and the US boxing fans will be out in force.

“I never really saw the street-kid side to him when he were in training, he was usually always laughing and joking, he is a cool guy. but if you push the wrong with him or he hasn’t eaten and is a bit hungry then maybe he gets like that. Don’t we all.”

Ahead of fighting Bermane Stiverne on Saturday at the O2, Joe Joyce spoke after his press conference. This press conference turned to chaos as well.

Joyce’s manager Sam Jones slammed Stiverne for backing out of a previous sparring session. This added heat to the situation. Ultimately security had to intervene as the Haiti heavyweight as he threatened to ‘slap the s*** out’ of Jones.
